Rabid Habs

4 Assistants and No Captain

Habs' 4 assistant captains

It’s official, the Montreal Canadiens won’t have a Captain for the 2014-15 season. There will be 4 assistant Captains.

Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov will wear the “A” all season long and Max Pacioretty will wear it on the road and P.K. Subban will be an assistant for the home games.

P.K. Subban said this morning: “It’s an honor to be part of the leadership group. It’s a big step for me.” He added: “Patches will figure out what type of leader he’ll be. So will I. So will Plek and Marky.”

According to Max Pacioretty: “It’s an honor. We have plenty of guys in the room capable of leading this team. This is a transition period for the club. We had different leaders last year, you didn’t want to step on any toes.” He added: “I’ve been advised to keep growing, improving, and stay myself throughout the process.”

Max Pacioretty learned of his letter on Saturday while P.K. Subban said he learned about it this morning.

Without having a letter on his jersey, Carey Price will be part of the leadership group, but as many pointed out on social media, Carey Price might be the one leading the group. About the subject, Price said: “For the team we have, it makes sense. Not singling out one guy out of our leadership core makes sense.” When asked about how P.K. will react to his letter, he said: “I don’t think it’s possible for P.K. to talk more than he did before.”
