Habs Re-Sign Weise to 2-year Contract Extension

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have re-signed Dale Weise to a 2 year contract extension. The 25 year-old Winnipeg born Weise will reportedly earn a total of $2 million over the next two seasons.

Weise who scored the gaming winning goal in the first playoff game against Tampa had 3 goals and 4 assists in 16 of the Habs 17 games.

“The acquisition of Dale Weise contributed to the success of our team this season,” Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said. “A young veteran with a lot of character, Dale is an intense player with a strong work ethic. We’re very pleased to have him as part of our team moving forward.”

Weise made $750,000 this past season and was set to become a restricted free agent July 1.
