Habs Acquire P.A. Parenteau From Colorado

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired forward P.A. Parenteau from the Colorado Avalanche. In return, the Avs will get forward Daniel Brière and the Canadiens’ fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Parenteau had 14 goals and 19 assists in 55 games with the Avs last season. He also pitched in with a goal and two assists in the playoffs as the Avs were eliminated in the first round by the Minnesota Wild.

On the other hand, Brière had 13 goals and 12 assists in 69 games with the Habs. In the playoffs, he had three goals and four assists in 16 games as the Habs were eliminated in the Conference Finals by the New York Rangers.
