Habs, Galchenyuk Agree to Three-Year Deal

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have signed Alex Galchenyuk to a three-year contract. According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA, the deal will carry an average annual value of $4.9 million dollars.

The announcement of the signing comes an hour after the deadline for players to elect for salary arbitration. Galchenyuk did file for arbitration at the 5:00 PM deadline, but the hearing will no longer be necessary.

Last season with the Canadiens, Galchenyuk scored 44 points in 61 games. Over the course of his NHL career, Galchenyuk has appeared in 336 games with the Canadiens, 89 goals and 204 total points.

but remember he will be a UFA in 3 years and if Bergevin still running the show will be gone. Druoin brought in and paid 6 yrs 5.5 a yr but chucky here all along and only gets 3 yrs at 4.9 yr. does not equate. Chucky has better stats but is not from Quebec…plus has not played in AHL…
