Your Montreal Canadiens have put defender, Brandon Davidson on waivers

Brandon Davidson carries a $1.4M cap hit. So far into his tenure with the Habs, he has accumulated 3 assists in 23 regular season games. The Lethbridge Alberta native was apart of a 1-for-1 swap with forward David Desharnais going the other way.

According to previous reports, the Canadiens opened up trade discussion for the defensemen. With Shea Weber coming off the IR to face the Red Wings at home on Saturday, the Canadiens would need to create a spot on the active roster.

Davidson’s fate will be revealed Sunday at noon.

Your Montreal Canadiens traded Peter Holland to the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Adam Cracknell.

Cracknell has spent the majority of the 2017-18 season with the Rangers AHL team, the Hartford Wolf Pack. Cracknell logged in 2 goals and an assist in 15 games with the Wolf Pack. He also appeared in 4 games with the New York Rangers.

Adam Cracknell will report to Laval.

Peter Holland had 8 goals and 10 assists in 20 games for the Laval Rocket.

Also in the rumour mill, Eric Engels reported that the Canadiens are looking to trade Brandon Davidson. Brandon Davidson is expendable due to the emergence of Jakub Jerabek and David Schlemko. He has been a healthy scratch for the past 3 matches. So far into the campaign, Brandon Davidson has 1 assist, 9 penalty minutes and a minus-three rating in 13 matches.
