Habs Sign Charles Hudon to two-year, one-way Contract

The Montreal Canadiens have signed centre Charles Hudon to a two-year, one-way deal. Hudon, an impending restricted free-agent, will have a cap hit of $650,000 over the next two seasons.

The one-way aspect of this deal guarantees that he will be paid the same amount even if he plays in the AHL. The Canadiens would later correct this tweet, saying that the first year of the contract (2017-18) is two-way, while the second year (2018-19) is one-way.

Last season in St. John’s, Hudon scored 49 points in 56 games and was a fixture on the Ice Caps’ power play. In three games with the Habs last year, Hudon had two assists.
