Habs Sign Joel Hanley Of The Portland Pirates

Joel Hanley

Joel Hanley, defenseman for the AHL’s Portland Pirates has signed a one year, two-way deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

The 24 year old collected 17 points (two goals, 15 assists) in 63 games during the 2014-15 season with the Pirates. Hanley had a plus-seven differential and grabbed 34 penalty minutes as well. He also played with the ECHL’s Gwinneth Gladiators for three games, scoring one goal.

Since making his AHL debut in 2013, Hanley has played 78 regular games with the Pirates, having 22 points (two goals and 20 assists) and also having 99 penalty minutes in total.

Overall, this defenseman is a perfect fit for the Habs when it comes to contributing to points on the board.

Another great job, Marc Bergevin
